ABOUT THE CLUB

We hold chess tournaments for ALL USCF members of all ages, not just juniors.

Evansville Scholastic Chess Club is a US Chess Federation-affiliated chess club. The club is designed for players age 5-18.  We focus on teaching junior chess players at our club meetings but adults are welcome to observe, too.

We are a public charity, non-profit corporation.  The purpose of the club is educational, to help develop chess as an art among scholastic players for the purposes of recreation and to enhance social welfare in the community.  The main emphasis of the club is to focus on improvement, sportsmanship, and honor intrinsic to the game of chess.

Players of all experience levels are welcome from any school, public or private, in the tri-state area of Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois.

Chess beginners are encouraged to attend.  See our links below to learn how to play.

We meet on Saturday afternoons usually from noon to 3:30 p.m.   Please see the calendar below for dates and locations for club meetings.

ABOUT THE COACHES

Jared, Daniel and Sean Vibbert have been playing chess events for years.  Their parents,  Terry and Tracey are USCF Certified Tournament Directors.

Please feel free to email or call us for more details.

ABOUT THE LOCATIONS

Our meeting location is usually at the New Central Library-downtown.  The Browning Event Rooms at Central Library-downtown accommodates up to 198 people. The upstairs Large Conference Room accommodates 24.  See the calendar dates in RED for meeting places and times.

They will be USCF-rated events with game times of 60 minutes per player. USCF and ESCA membership required. No entry fee, no prizes. Scholastic and Adult membership now available on our Club Membership Application. See the Planning Calendar for dates.  The following dates are confirmed: 7/18, 8/15, 9/12, 10/17.
