Tri-State Spring Chess Open

Enter in one of two divisions:

Open Division

Open to all.

Monetary prizes for top score in each class. Prize fund equals 80% of open division entry fees. Minimum of 5 in each class or classes may be combined.

Four Rounds. Swiss System. USCF Rated

Game 70 minutes each, sudden death

Scholastic Division (12^th grade and under)

Trophies awarded by school grade section: All players will receive at least a participation trophy.

1^st and under: 5 Place, Top Unrated

3^rd and under: 5 Place, Top Unrated, Top Under 750

6^th and under: 5 Place, Top Unrated, Top Under 750

8^th and under: 5 Place, Top Unrated, Top Under 750

12^th and Under: 5 Place, Top Unrated, Top Under 750

Top 3 Team Trophies for each section (top 4 scores, minimum 2 for team from school or club)

Additional place trophies awarded as participant numbers increase.

40 minutes each, sudden death

CHECK IN CLOSES AT 8:30 A.M. – PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY!

Players Meeting begins at 8:45 a.m. Round One starts at 9:00 a.m.

Following rounds begin ASAP.

Please bring your own chess sets for skittles and clocks for the rounds.

Notation not required in scholastic division. Notation will not be collected in scholastic division.

Giant chess set for the kids to play on and 4 DGT electronic chess boards will project top games for spectator enjoyment.
